Emergent Sound for
Resonant Bodies

x

North Space

Join us for the second chapter of Resonant Bodies: Further Afield, (a hybrid Resonant Bodies event that lands somewhere between day retreat and deep listening event) on Sunday, 16 February, at North Space in Warrandyte — a quiet sanctuary on the edge of 20 acres of bushland.

At the tail end of summer, we invite you to explore the landscape: walk among towering gums, trace the light filtering through branches, and take in the stillness of place before gathering to respond to a pastel work by the late American artist Joan Mitchell. Her layered, gestural marks will guide our collective listening, inviting musicians and participants alike to move between sound, texture, and image.

This is an afternoon of slow looking and deep listening, where art, land, and sound meet. Musicians will play live in dialogue with the artwork and the shifting environment, creating space for reflection and quiet curiosity.

Explore a practice of deep listening by indulging in whatever serves you best: to walk, to sit, to write, to draw, or simply to be present.

This event take place between 2 - 4pm, but there is an invitation to arrive early and stay after the event to relax, chat and enjoy the space before heading back to the real world. See itineray below for more information.
