About
Resonant Bodies is dedicated to providing immersive and accessible experiences with sound. Our mission is to cultivate spaces where artists and audiences can explore deep listening and creative expression together, free from the hierarchical frameworks often found in traditional performance venues. By bridging the gap between music, collaboration, & improvisation and well-being, rest, and deep listening, we aim to create an inclusive environment that nurtures exploration and connection.
We use sound as a modality to explore the intersections of resonance, deep listening, and emergence. By bringing together diverse musicians and listeners in serene, alcohol-free and accessible environment, we encourage a participatory exploration of how sound resonates within and between bodies and environments. This process is not merely about listening to music; it is about experiencing it as a dynamic, emergent phenomenon that can foster community, enhance personal well-being, and deepen our understanding of the arts as a living, reflective practice.
We believe in removing barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing venues and strive to provide accessible resources for our community that they can return to again and again. We invite everyone to engage in a way that supports their needs
By engaging in these alternate, nourishing spaces, we hope to create a community that is built on safety, accessibility, and shared exploration. If you are interested in connecting or collaborating with Resonant Bodies, please send your inquiries to kayleigh.heydon@gmail.com.

You are welcome to arrive and help yourself to a cup of tea, sette in and listen in a way that feels comfortable for you; whether that means collecting art materials to engage with or finding a cozy spot to lie down with pillows and blankets. As the soundscape emerges, you may choose to engage with the provided prompts or simply let the experience unfold. Maintaining a curious and open attitude allows us to resonate more fully with our shared rhythms and environments. When we approach our bodies and surroundings with curiosity, we open ourselves to deeper exploration and allow space for emergence.
It is important to note that while this is a therapeutic and restful experience, this is not a therapy space. Please tend to your own needs throughout. With relaxed facilitation, you are invited to treat the space as your own, fostering a self-guided practice that serves you.

We are passionate about bringing musicians together to inquire, play, explore vulnerability, and traverse unknown terrain while connecting with and playing alongside diverse instruments and people in a relaxing, non-performance-based environment. This approach invites both musicians and participants to be present, to listen deeply, and to discover new ways of being in relation to sound, each other, and themselves.
We are passionate about introducing our attendees to new sounds and instruments including non-western, non-traditional instruments, and experimental made instruments.
We are committed to creating diverse ensembles, mixing classically trained orchestral, with self taught indie artists, new music vocalists and field recording artists to mingle and exchange and show the vibrance and diversity of the Melbourne music community
We are always expanding and accepting new artists to join our casual 'roster', please email Kayleigh.Heydon@gmail.com to chat.
